Millie - F, 6yr

Meet Millie 6-year-old • Female • Silver Weimaraner • ~65 lbs

Millie is a beautiful, intelligent, and deeply loyal Weimaraner who is looking for a very special home — one that understands that trust is earned, not rushed. Millie has come a long way since entering rescue and working through foster care and professional training. With proper structure, slow introductions, and consistency, she has gained confidence and now enjoys playing, running, and coexisting peacefully with dogs she feels comfortable around. Her progress has been huge — and well earned.

Personality & Temperament

Millie is very selective with her people. She needs time, patience, and space to warm up. When allowed to move at her own pace, she bonds deeply and becomes a loving, affectionate companion who enjoys snuggling, being near her person, and quiet companionship. However, Millie does not do well with forced interactions. If she feels pressured or uncomfortable, she may snap or nip as a way to communicate. Because of this, she requires:

•   Very slow introductions to both people and dogs

•   A handler who understands canine body language

•   Respect for her boundaries at all times. Once she trusts you, her loyalty is

unwavering.

Ideal Home for Millie

Millie’s forever home must meet the following criteria:

•   Absolutely NO children. This includes no visiting children, no sports events,

playgrounds, or kid-heavy environments.

•   Female adopter strongly preferred. Millie is fearful of men and requires weeks of

consistent exposure to build trust with them.

•   Calm, structured home Training & Behavior

•   House trained (on a schedule)

•   Crate trained — whines briefly, then settles once she hears doors close

•   Leash trained — walks well with a confident handler but may pull if allowed

•   Good in the car

•   Alpha/Dominant personality

•   Moderate energy — enjoys daily walks and playtime but does not need excessive

exercise. Millie has learned to socialize appropriately with dogs when introductions

are handled correctly. She currently shows no issues with dogs she is properly

introduced to, including new dogs.

Other Notes

•   Cat curious — will chase and bark at outdoor/feral cats

•   Sensitive to loud noises and unfamiliar people (no medication needed)

•   Food: Purina Pro Plan Salmon & Rice (1 cup AM / 1 cup PM)

•   Preventatives: Simparica Trio (monthly)

•   Spayed, vaccinated, and up to date on vet care

•   Sleeps comfortably in a crate

The Right Match

Millie is not a first-time dog and not a social butterfly — but for the right person, she is an incredible companion. She needs:

•   A patient, confident woman

•   Someone who respects her boundaries

•   Someone willing to let a bond develop naturally. If you are looking for a loyal,

affectionate dog who will choose you once trust is established, Millie may be your

girl.
