Meet JoJo, a handsome 8-year-old silver Weimaraner with a big personality, a loving heart, and plenty of adventures still ahead of him!


JoJo has been with his family for nearly eight years and is described as affectionate, energetic, playful, friendly, quirky, and sensitive. He loves spending time with his people, exploring the outdoors, going for hikes, and enjoying car rides. After a day of adventure, he’s perfectly happy settling down for a well-deserved nap on his favorite couch.


JoJo is an intelligent boy who already knows several commands, including sit, down, paw with both paws, wait, back up, and going to his designated bed or couch. He’s extremely food-motivated, with peanut butter and turkey ranking among his favorite treats!


Personality & Home Life


JoJo is completely housebroken and accustomed to having free roam of the house when his family is away. He handles being left alone well, with only minimal separation anxiety reported.


Although previously crate trained, he is no longer particularly fond of being crated. He prefers relaxing in the house and sleeping on his couch in the living room.


JoJo has a moderate-to-high energy level and would benefit from an active family that can provide regular exercise, outdoor adventures, and mental stimulation.


He also makes an excellent traveling companion! His family reports that he behaves wonderfully in the car, although he prefers standing during the ride.


Other Dogs, Cats & Children


JoJo’s family reports that he is currently reactive toward other dogs, particularly while on leash. Although he generally walks very well, encountering another dog can trigger reactive behavior.


He has done well with some cats, although others can be a trigger.


JoJo is reportedly good with children, but his large size and clumsy nature make him better suited for a home without very young children.


His family reports no history of biting.


An adult household where JoJo can be the only dog would likely provide the most comfortable environment for him. His future family should understand canine reactivity and be willing to manage his interactions with other animals appropriately.

According to his current family, JoJo:

  • Is neutered and microchipped

  • Is current on vaccinations

  • Has no known health issues or allergies

  • Currently takes Prozac daily

  • Has an unknown heartworm status

  • Is not currently receiving monthly heartworm prevention

  • Last visited the veterinarian on January 15, 2026

Why Is JoJo Being Rehomed?


JoJo’s family has experienced significant lifestyle changes that have made it increasingly difficult to provide the exercise and activity he needs.


Additionally, their young child is becoming more mobile, and they are concerned that JoJo’s size and clumsiness could unintentionally result in an injury.


His family is not facing an emergency rehoming situation and hopes to find a loving, appropriate home where JoJo can continue enjoying an active and fulfilling life.


JoJo’s Ideal Forever Home


JoJo’s family believes he would thrive with an active younger couple who enjoy hiking and outdoor activities and have the time to provide him with regular exercise and companionship.


An experienced Weimaraner household would be especially beneficial, particularly one familiar with the breed’s energy, intelligence, sensitivity, and need for structure.


JoJo would love a home where he can enjoy outdoor adventures, spend quality time with his people, and relax on a comfortable couch at the end of the day.
