Dominic - M, 7yo

Dominic is a handsome, soulful Weimaraner gentleman who has been patiently waiting for his forever home — and he’s more than ready to find it. He is an adult male (estimated around 7 years old), weighing roughly 70 lbs, with the classic Weim look: soft gray coat, expressive eyes, and a presence that quietly steals your heart.

Dominic has been through a long and thorough medical journey, and we’re happy to share that he’s doing fantastic. After extensive diagnostics and careful medication adjustments, his urinary leakage is now fully controlled, and he has been stable with zero issues. He will remain on his current medication regimen, which has made a world of difference for him. Additionally, a wound on his back has healed beautifully and continues to do well. Dominic is comfortable, happy, and feeling better than he has in a long time.

Personality-wise, Dominic is an absolute gem. He is calm, affectionate, and deeply people-oriented. He loves being close to his humans and will happily lean into you for pets or gently remind you when attention is overdue. He especially enjoys head scratches and lounging nearby while you go about your day. One thing is guaranteed: you will never forget dinner time with Dominic in your house — he takes meal schedules very seriously and will let you know if you’re even a minute behind.

Dominic does well around other dogs and is very polite with them. He’s not a rough-and-tumble player and doesn’t need a canine companion, but he enjoys calm dog company and coexists easily. He’s been fostered in a home with multiple dogs and has adjusted well, even sharing quiet moments and the occasional sweet nose boop with another foster. He’s much more interested in people than playtime, making him a great fit for a lower-key household.

He is leash-trained, easy to handle, and enjoys short to moderate walks at a relaxed pace. Dominic isn’t a marathon runner, but he appreciates getting outside, sniffing around, and then heading back in to relax. He is crate trained, settles nicely, and understands household routines well.

Despite initial skepticism about winter weather, Dominic has officially decided that snow is fun — especially when it can be eaten and frolicked in. Watching him rediscover joy has been one of the highlights of his foster journey.

Dominic would thrive in a home that values routine, companionship, and a strong human–dog bond. He would do best with adults or older, respectful children and people who appreciate a loyal, steady companion who simply wants to be part of your world.

This boy has overcome a lot with grace and patience, and he is now ready for the next — and best — chapter of his life. Dominic is ready to be someone’s heart dog.
